  We are digitally releasing some cassettes we recorded and made physical copies of in 2019. These releases capture the vibe of our free form improvisations that we were doing every week up in our rehearsal space on Cleveland’s west side for the better part of two years. Halfway Cottages as a collaboration between Steve Lull and Andy Auten started after our previous group, Dandelion Moon, disbanded. This started a period of free creative expression for us, with an anything goes ethos, and a motto of “never give up on the last jam”. We summoned spirits, feelings, textures and sometimes messages from beyond as we mixed in poetry, free association and direct language from the subconscious. Even though we have gone on to collaborate with other musicians, got back into song writing, and let the rock kids that we have always been resurface, this music is the core of what we are. As collaborators, we are always coming back to commune with this essence.
